The copyright owners of the pictures and information on this site agree to single not-for-profit use in lectures, lecture notes, and seminars, provided the embossing on the pictures is not removed. Any use other than one which follows this stipulation is in breach of the copyright owner's rights.

Other, larger formats are generally available for such use, but usually at commercial rates: 2-14 Mb for jpegs; 5-28 Mb for tiffs; more recent images are in NEF or RAW format; most images are >3000 x 2000 pixels wide.

Price guide
We are happy to quote for your use: email us a description of how you are going to use our material and we will quote a price by return. Here are some guide prices for common uses of our images. If you are genuinely on a tight budget we are happy to discuss ways we can work together.

Use in Editorial Print: Reproduction Rights fees start at €50 for the first image for use in a printed brochure or leaflet, with appropriate reductions thereafter. We are happy to quote for you to use as many images as you wish in an item of print with appropriate discounts.

Use in commercial audio-visual presentation: For supplying images suitable for digital presentations prices are €50 for the first image, with appropriate reductions thereafter.

Advertising: Prices are negotiated on an individual basis and depend on circulation and exclusivity.

Use on Websites: €50 for 12 months on your site for the first image, with appropriate reductions thereafter.

Other Uses: We are happy to quote for your requirements.

All payments received for images are used entirely to support the site via a donation to the National University of Ireland Galway and are thus tax-exempt and sales-tax free.
